DY Realty Services, LLC. - Selecting a backend content management and process automation platform The team searched for a software platform that provided Out-of-the-Box functionality that could be configured to meet the business requirements with minimal customizations. Below are the things the team consider when reviewing software options.
- Scalability - the backend platform must be N'Tier and scalable on all levels:
- The server farm must scale simply by adding servers.to accommodate additional traffic or transactions.
- The Presentation layer must accommodate multi-channel templates :HTML, XML, RSS, WAP.
- Navigation must be managed by a dynamic dispatch system for navigation changes as the site grows or the taxonomy evolves.
- The Website Content and System User capacity must only be limited by hardware.
- Extendibility - The backend platform must provide APIs for customizations and adding new functionality.
- Integration – The backend platform must be capable of integration with legacy systems.
- Reliability - the system must be stable and require minimal administration and maintenance.
- Role Based permissions – the backend platform must offer role-based permissions for system users and administrators
- Multiple channel content delivery - the backend platform must offer a single UI for the managing and publishing content to the web, email, fax, wireless, printer and live feeds
- User wizard development - the platform must allow for easy development and deployment of custom wizards
- Process automation UIs - the platform must provide the tools for managing the process UI and Business rules for automating simple and complex business processes.
- Budget - this was the trickiest of the requirements. The requirements of the DY Realty Services implementation were those of a fortune 500 company with 1% of the budget.
After careful consideration of the business, financial, and technology requirements and a review of the Out-of-the-Box functionality of several Content Management and Customer Relationship Management software the informu.com team recommended that DY Realty Services, LLC purchase and implement a 25 user license of KnowledgeControl's Mutli-Channel Content Management solution and their Paperless Office solution which run on Linux RedHat. KnowledgeControl offered Out-of-the-Box functionality that could be configured to meet all of the requirements. It’s multi channel template engine, user-friendly workflows, tightly integrated communication and collaboration system and API for customization as well as the license pricing made it the clear choice.
