DY Realty Services, LLC - Building the  business taxonomy
The most important part of a successful Muti-channel Content Management and Paperless office implementation is the underlying taxonomy. How is the business information and information flow organized. The taxonomy assures the correct content gets published to the website, print brochures, email brochures, fax brochures, wireless updates and Live Property Feeds. The taxonomy also dispatches the Requests for Information to the correct broker or subject matter expert. It's the taxonomy that the website navigation is built on to assure the right news, events, success stories,  links, views, and forms are available to the user when needed.

The Taxonomy must take into consideration the delivery of information and the management of that information. It must scale as the information grows and changes The taxonomy is one of the largest contributors to cognitive user experience.

The DY Realty Services team developed several use cases, process flows and prototypes to help determine the a taxonomy that would serve the Phase One requirements and all future requirements and growth. The deliverables of a business are the central purpose of a business, in the case of DYRealty Services the primary deliverable is properties . As a result, DY Realty Services taxonomy was developed around properties. Each property is a website, the website is the hub for all the property information. Property Websites contain static and dynamic information that is both public and private. A property website has all the marketing collateral, property photos, property information, property agreements, and property related collaboration.

During the Exploration steps of the implementation process informu.com used the KnowledgeControl Platform to model and developed several taxonomy prototypes. KnowledgeControl's Rapid Development workflows provide the implementation team with a quick way of modeling taxonomy startegies. By modeling several taxonomy strategy options and testing the content management and communicaton manangement workflows the team is able to take the consept to a functional prototype this allows them to test out use case to determine the optimal, scalable taxonomy.as part of the Exploration step.
